Best Slippers Reviewed and Tested for Quality & Comfort
Without a doubt, slippers are a favorite for many people when lounging or otherwise doing stuff around the house, especially in the colder winter months. Although they aren’t entirely necessary, having a warm and comfy place for your feet to call home at night, early in the morning, or during a lazy Sunday afternoon around your house is one of the most relaxing feelings out there.
Where sneakers are necessary for running and dress shoes are needed for most professional workplaces, slippers solely exist to pamper your feet and to have the one single goal of providing you with the fluffiest and warmest place for your feet to relax. However, even with all of that said, slippers can vary in size, shape, comfort, and functionality just as much as any other shoe type out there.
While you could go out and buy just any old pair that you find, doing a bit of research beforehand will help to ensure that you get the best and most comfortable fit for your feet that is possible.
That’s where we come in! Rather than you having to look all over the internet to find the best ones for you, we’ve put together a list of the top 10 best choices for 2017 – 5 for men and 5 for women. So, let’s get right into it and take a look at some of the best options currently available!

2. Deer Stags Men's Wherever
For starters, let's talk about how the Wherever actually looks. It's a slip-on form factor with no decorative laces like the moccasin we first looked at, but there's a really nice triangular pattern that goes along all edges of these. The look of the stitching vary depending on which color you choose, and in regards to the colors, you can choose from Grey, Navy, Olive, and Taupe II. While that might not be a large number to choose from, the pattern along the edges adds quite a bit to the overall look, making the lack of colors not an issue whatsoever.
As with most of the slippers on our list, the outer part of the Wherever is made out of fabric. Oh, and that pattern we were talking about just above? It features S.U.P.R.O. Sock technology and compression nodules for additional comfort that you just can't get on something without them. It may seem like a small feature, but you'll definitely notice the difference once you put these things on your feet. And to add to the overall comfort your feet will feel, the Altron heel cushion provides for shock absorption that should makes these quite durable even through outdoor walks.
When reading through the reviews on Amazon, we noticed that a number of users reported that the actual size of the slipper tends to run a bit large. That's not a deal breaker by any means at all, but it is important to keep in mind to ensure that you get the best fit possible out of the Wherever Slipper. If you're looking for a solid slip-on with a flashier design and solid support features, this is a really great purchase.
3. Minnetonka Women's Cally
The design and build here is just like the moccasin we looked at at the beginning of our list. The outside is made of a leather material, and the sole uses a synthetic construction that's both breathable and comfortable. The heel of these measure about 0.25 inches off of the ground, whereas the platform measures in about 0 inches off the ground. The outsole is made out of rubber, but it is a bit thinner than some of the other products on this list. Other design elements include faux fur that lines the entire inside, along with the leather tie and lacing that is found around the entire collar of the shoe.
Although the Minnetonka Cally may not be quite as flashy or fluffy as previous slippers we've reviewed, this is one for those who don't like the overly fluffy and puffy design of many women's slippers. This is an option for women who want something that's comfortable, durable, and also a bit classier than most of its competition. There are 10 color options to choose from, but none of them are overly gaudy by any means. The colors included a nice touch of vibrance, but they still hold true to the overall look and feel of a traditional moccasin.
On Amazon, this one won't set you back too far, and is actually a pretty fair price, especially when considering the comfort and wide color options that are included here. A number of reviewers have reported that these run about a half size too large, so keep that in mind if/when you decide to order a pair for yourself.
6. Acorn Women's New Spa Thong Slipper
While this shoe may feature comfort and safety features of a traditional design, it boasts the style of a flip flop. This makes for a truly unique combination, but it's one that we can fully get behind. Since the design resembles that of a sandal, there overall form factor here is still that of a slip-on, meaning the slipper is still incredibly easy to take on or off. The slipper is made out of a soft fabric material, and the upper part's plush construction creates for incredible comfort and warmth when worn. Additionally, the outsole of the shoe has been made weatherproof, meaning that it won't wear or fade away when worn outdoors. And, as if that wasn't enough, Acorn has included memory foam in the insole to provide the maximum amount of comfort that they could possibly fit into this slipper.
The Acorn Women's New Spa Thong Slipper, while certainly made for keeping your feet warm and snug, has also been rated as one of the most durable slippers that we were able to find. A great number of reviewers on Amazon say that these are some of the highest quality slippers that money can buy, and although you won't be going on hike or doing anything to strenuous in particular kind of footwear, it's still great to know that they won't be falling apart after a few months of use like some others have been known to do. And along with great durability, these come in a great variety of colors. There aren't any fancy designs or patterns here like we saw on our previous pair, but there's still enough color variety that you should be able to find something to meet your exact preference when it comes to the look of them.
In regards to the price, these are one of the more expensive options on our list. You'll pay a fair amount more for these than some of the others we've looked at today. However, that price is may be justified when looking at not only how comfortable and stylish these are, but also in regards to how durable they are reported to be. There are certainly other options on our list if you're looking for a really good slipper for not a lot of money, but the Acorn Women's New Spa Thong is a near perfect option for a bit more money. Deciding which purchase is better for you will ultimately come down to your needs and budget limitations.
4. World's Softest Super Soft Cozy Slippers with Slip-Resistant Bottom Sole
With a company name like World's Softest, you would expect for them to make shoes and other products that have a strong focus on being soft and comfortable. While some make promises of extreme comfort and then don't follow through, these slippers by World's Softest definitely hold up to their name. Inside the shoe, there is an acrylic blend that surrounds your entire foot with some of the most luxurious softness and comfort that they will ever feel. Combine that with a foam-padded insole, and you're looking at one of the best places for your feet to call home after a long and hard day of work and running around. Additionally, on top of the incredible softness, the slip-on design that's used here is a bit different than all of the other slippers on our list so far. While most slip-ons have featured a basic opening that doesn't move at all, the slipper here by World's Softest features a non-binding top that has the ability to stretch and conform to the shape of the top of your foot. This design makes these both easy to put on, and hold onto your foot more securely than traditional slip-on slipper designs.
However, while all of these features we've looked at are fantastic, they aren't any good if you don't have any traction when walking around your house in these. Thankfully, World's Softest has included a non-slip bottom sole that ensures you won't slip or fall when walking around in these slippers. While the sole may not be constructed out of rubber like most all others on our list, they're still reported to be incredibly grippy and solid when walking around.
Unlike the those by Luxehome that we previously looked at, World's Softest offers an incredibly wide variety of colors to choose from - 15 to be exact. While there are a couple subdued designs, most of them are very bright and vibrant in both their color and pattern choices. Depending on what color and size you end up choosing, the World's Softest, Cozy Slippers with Slip-Resistant Bottom Sole Really doesn't come with that high of a price. A few reviewers on Amazon have reported that the sizing runs a bit small when compared to other shoes and slippers out there, so ordering a size up from what you normally get might not be a bad idea.
5. Luxehome Women's Cozy Fleece House Slippers
Upon first glance, the Cozy Fleece just look like one of the most inviting pair of shoes that you ever did see. The entire top and inside of the shoe is made out of a soft and fluffy cotton material, and your feet will feel warm just by looking at these. The overall design is that of a slip-on, and Luxehome promises that this is an excellent choice even if you have wider feet than most people. And, along with the fluffy cotton for keeping your toes and feet incredibly warm while during wear, the rubber sole that is found on the bottom helps to add a nice touch of grip and stability to the slippers. Warm and comfort may be the primary focus here, but it's nice to see that Luxehome is still concerned about your overall safety when wearing these. They aren't a pair that you will want to wear for too long outside, but it's a nice safety addition to know that the rubber sole is there when walking on slick surfaces like wood or tile.
When reading through the reviews for these slippers on Amazon, the vast majority of them are overwhelming positive. Along with people raving about how comfortable these are, they buyers are also impressed with how durable the shoes actually are. Luxehome says that they are fine for either hand or machine washing, and they promise that this product won't change shape or wear down when getting cleaned. From what we've been able to tell by scanning through the Amazon reviews, these claims hold up incredibly well!
These come in four different colors, including Apricot, Light Purple, Pink, and Wine. While there may not be a great number of color options here, the ones that are included all look fantastic. However, perhaps one of the greatest aspects about these slippers is the price. If you're looking for an option whose primary focus is keeping your feet warm, but also has some basic safety/stability features, this just might be the perfect pair for you. And, at that price, they're an absolute steal!
7. Tamarac by Slippers International
The overall look of the Men's Irish Clog features design cues from both a slip-on clog and a slipper. The raised rubber sole is similar to something you'd find a traditional clog, whereas the suede fabric outer material is more reminiscent to that of a slipper. Additionally, the flannel-lined inside that warms your feet is a solid reminder that, although this looks like an odd hybrid, it is still very much a slipper at its core. However, the clog aspect doesn't just come with its appearance. That raised rubber outsole is ridiculously durable, making this practical for some outdoor activities. Combine this with the Memory Foam insole that form to the shape of your feet, and you have the best of both worlds in regards to durability and comfort.
The color options here are decent, and are very similar to the ones we saw with the previous Tamarac slipper on our list - colors options here include Rootbeer, Black, Navy, Charcoal Grey, and Allspice. This isn't the most extensive list of colors you'll find with a slipper, but the colors that are featured here all look very nice and should go great with your favorite bathrobe! And, as a nice bonus, these Tamaracs reportedly fit very true to size unlike many choices on the market, meaning that the size you choose here should be very similar to the size of your normal shoes.
Although these aren't the cheapest of the options on our list, they're also far from the most expensive. If you're into this style, the value for everything included is fantastic, making this a really solid buy.
8. Luxehome Men's Slip-On Indoor/Outdoor Fleece Scuffs
Before we talk about price, let's first look at what Luxehome has to offer with their Fleece Scuffs. The sole on the bottom is made out of a solid rubber, meaning that they have excellent grip and won't slip around on surfaces like tile or wood floors around your home. The outside of the shoe is made using a very high-quality fabric that can either be hand-washed or thrown is a washing machine with cold water, is fast to dry once it's clean, and won't morph its shape after cleaning it up. Looking at the inside, the lining is made with a very nice coral velvet fabric. Along with keeping your feet warm, Luxehome ensures that these won't cause any irritation to your skin during the process, something that's very nice to hear for those that have sensitive skin.
The overall design is quite simplistic. These have a slip-on design, and there are no laces or cosmetic stitching to be found anywhere. Additionally, there are only three colors to choose from - including brown, dark blue, and gray. While the color selection and barebones design might sound like a bummer, for the more than reasonable price of these, they are definitely a good value pick. That's an incredible deal for everything these have to offer, making them your best choice if you're looking for a solid house shoe with good support on a budget.
9. Acorn Men's Moc
Just what makes this version such a solid choice though? Let's first take a look at some of the comfort and durability features that these have to offer. For starters, the sidewall of the shoe here is made out of suede, not only making the shoe look good, but also providing phenomenal protection and long-lasting durability. Moving to the inside of the slipper, we find the inner lining that is constructed out of a soft fleece material. The fleece that is used here keeps the inside of the shoe breathable, meaning that your feet won't get hot or sweaty while wearing them. The insole uses a Memory Foam footbed to contour to the exact shape of your feet and toes, and the EVA midsole and heel wedge provide unparalleled support for your feet.
When talking about looks. the Men's Acorn Moc comes in either a fleece or textile upper depending on the color that you choose. When talking about colors, we have a much wider selection when compared to the Tamarac. There are 14 colors to choose from here, ranging from solid black, a red and yellow plaid design, or even a bright blue. While the cosmetic laces are absent here and the design is definitely a bit more simplistic, these are certainly more customizable than the Tamarac. which we previously looked at. These run considerably cheaper than the Tamarac, and they are actually quite a steal when you consider all of the features and color options that are available.
10. Tamarac by Slippers International 7161 Men's Camper Moccasin
In regards to the overall design, the decorate lace found on the top doesn't do anything in terms of functionality, but it does add to that classic moccasin design that we've come to love over the years. Your color options that are available to you include Tan, Rootbeer, Black, Navy, and Charcoal Grey. There aren't any crazy colors here like green or yellow, but the moccasin has always been about simple, neutral colors that go with just about anything. And, thanks to the indoor/outdoor sole combination, you can even take these puppies outside without having to worry about them getting ruined in the great outdoors. We certainly don't recommend running, hiking, or doing anything intensive while wearing the Tamarac, but they're perfectly fine for taking a light stroll around your neighborhood or for wearing outside to go get the morning paper from your mailbox.
When skimming through the reviews on Amazon, we did notice that a number of users reported that the size of the Tamarac slippers were quite a bit smaller when compared to their normal shoe size, so this is something you will want to keep in mind if you decide to purchase these. The cost of these really depends mostly on the size and color that you choose.
