Best Gardening Shoes Reviewed & Rated

A vast majority of us garden in our free time. Whether it is to provide fresh vegetables and herbs for our families, or a well-manicured flower garden to provide curb appeal and brighten our days, gardening is a great hobby that requires proper equipment. There used to be a day when I would garden in tennis shoes, only to see my feet soaked and my shoes covered in dirt just minutes after I dug my hands into the soil. I don’t have to be the first to tell you that wet, cold feet can ruin any activity, especially gardening. You wouldn’t use second-rate trowels or shears, so why would you wear a second-rate shoe into the garden?

Reading over the top 10 list, there are definitely many options out there for garden shoes and there is no right choice for every person. It is important to determine what might be important to you. While the clogs are great for summer months and provide for multiple uses, it won’t keep dirt out if that is important to you. The boots are great for gardening and most are waterproof, which is a great bonus. They can cost a little more and do not have as many uses as compared to the garden shoes or clogs.

My personal preference is for a nice garden boot. My favorites are the Sloggers Waterproof Garden Boot and the MuckBoots Edgewater Hi Boots as both have the name recognition, durability, and waterproof traits that I look for. If I am looking to save a little money, I like the Polar Products Wellington Boot as an option. It has a nice, sleek design, provides a waterproof fit when gardening, and also doubles as a good snow boot in the winter. We all know that gardening is dirty work. Our hands are down in the dirt, we don’t need our feet there as well.
