Below you will read a summary of them:

Positive
  • Saucony 6000 is everything that I need in a casual and running shoe. I started wearing them when they discontinued the 5000. Very comfortable and not too heavy.
  • I love this model the way it is. Hopeful that Saucony won’t make a change because if they do I won’t purchase another pair. Don’t like that sneaker companies make changes constantly. This has been my running shoe for years and I’ve purchased at least 30 pairs.
  • I like that I can get the best without the high price.
  • I have little to no arch and this is the only shoe that give me support. I can rely on the cushion when I am running. I can exercise without pain.
  • Perfect fit and very comfortable for my wide feet. I wear a size 11E.
  • Very dependable and I should know because I’ve been running in the Shadow 6000 for many years.
  • Best running shoe in my opinion.
  • Sturdy construction and fits perfect. Happy with my decision.
  • As long as Saucony keeps making these I will continue to buy them.
  • Great overall support and comfort. Awesome shoe.
  • Although I’ve tried other shoes over the past 5 years, I always go back to the Shadow 6000. Minimize pronation and provides great support.
  • Straight to the point, they fit and they’re comfortable.
  • Never disappointed, been wearing them for years.
  • Saucony is the only running shoes that I buy.
  • I don’t know why I try other shoes because I always come back to this one. 20 years and still I love these shoes.
  • Because of Saucony Shadow 6000, I have happy feet.
  • A dependable shoe for both running and walking.
  • Until recently I had never owned a pair so I relied on customer’s reviews and they were right, except that they aren’t heavy. These shoes are awesome.
  • Cute, supportive and comfortable.
Negative
  • Can’t buy in stores so you have to guess the right size
  • Too wide and runs larger than expected

Outsole

The outsole of the Saucony Shadow 6000 has been designed from Saucony’s XT-600 hardened rubber. This make allows the shoe to be worn in a variety of places while minimizing the damage that is possible for the user’s foot to incur. The bottom of the shoe has been given a triangular patterning which allows the shoe to achieve a high level of traction while being worn. Overall, the cut of the sole is relatively thin and allows for a decent level of flexibility in the wearer’s movements.

Midsole

The midsole of the Saucony Shadow 6000 is a relatively thick cut of EVA foam. The EVA foam used in the sole of the shoe allows for a high level of comfort to be achieved by the wearer. The comfort given to the wearer is only topped by the responsive nature of the material; it allows for a high level of bounce, redirecting energy to the wearer. The toe box of the midsole has been given flex grooves which enhances the range of motion given to the wearer in that part of the shoe.

Upper

The upper of the Saucony Shadow 6000 has been given a decent amount of cushioning and promotes overall comfort given to the wearer. For starters, the upper is designed from a combination of both Mesh and synthetic leather. The leather on the upper allows for a decent level of breathability to be achieved by the wearer, while the leather promotes the shoes overall comfort and dexterity. The upper of the shoe has a variety of coverings which aid the shoe in providing a decent level of protection to the wearer's foot.

Weight

For the Saucony Shadow 6000 to allow as much cushioning that it does, Saucony had to add a decent amount of weight to the shoe. The shoe weighs in at a surprising 12.9 oz which, when compared to other shoes in the Saucony line, is relatively heavy. The addition of the cushioning in the upper of the shoe is the cause for this rise in weight of the shoe. Also, the shoe’s relatively thick midsole also adds a decent amount of cushioning to the shoe. The addition of the weight of this shoe doesn’t hurt the wearer much, mainly because of the functionality that the added features provide.

Breathability

The shoe has several features which promote its overall breathable nature. The upper has spots where mesh is most prevalent which allows for a decent level of air circulation to be made available. The use of the synthetic leather somewhat takes away from this factor of the shoe, but not by much. Also, the shoe features Saucony’s OrthoLite insole which aids the shoe in providing a moisture wicking, comfortable overall experience for the user. The use of the materials in the upper of the shoe take away from the affects of the weight of the shoe.

Comfort

The shoe has several features which aid the shoe in providing a comfortable experience for the wearer. The upper of the shoe is made from a combination of both mesh and synthetic leather, which makes the shoe relatively firm and stable. The addition of the cushioning in the design of the shoe also boosts the comfort provided by the shoe. The sole unit of the shoe also has several comfort-providing features such as the EVA midsole and the relatively thin outsole of the shoe.

Style

The Saucony Shadow 6000 has several aesthetically pleasing features, which explains why it is widely sought after. The shoe has a thin cut upper, which allows it to blend in with the style of most shoes now. In addition to this, the upper of the shoe has a color-blocked design which adds to its overall attractiveness. As for the sole unit of the shoe, it is blocked off into layers which makes it seem rather minimalistic; the layered sole unit of the shoe compliments the color-blocked upper in this way. Overall, the minimalist design of the shoe adds to its aesthetic qualities, making it a rather appealing shoe.

Durability

The shoe is designed from several long-lived materials, aiding in its overall durability. The use of the EVA material in the Saucony Shadow 6000’s outsole allows it to withstand impacts relatively well. Also, to this effect, the EVA make of the midsole of the shoe allows it to respond very well to the impact of whatever surface it is being worn on. The rubber on the outsole of the shoe has been given a triangular patterning which allows the shoe to be able to withstand the variety of terrains that it is used to travel on with minimal issues. The sole unit of the shoe has been designed to allow the shoe to be worn for extended periods without causing the owner to worry about whether they will need replacement.

Protection

The Saucony Shadow 6000 has been given several technologies which allow the shoe to provide the wearer with a high level of protection. The upper of the shoe has several layers, a quality that greatly enhances the overall protection provided to the wearer. On top of this, the upper of the shoe also has ample cushioning which enhances the shoe’s stopping power; this implies that the shoe has a great ability to handle the effects that incoming objects may have on the wearer’ feet. The sole unit of the shoe is also relatively thick, allowing it to prevent harm from coming to the wearer during use on extraneous terrains.

Responsiveness

The sole unit of the Saucony Shadow 6000 has been fashioned out of material which allows it to provide a great deal of responsiveness to the wearer. The EVA make of the sole unit of the shoe allows the shoe to take in the shock of the surface that is worn on and to send it back out providing the wearer with a nice bounce during their wear. On top of this, the traction provided by the outsole of the shoe allows the shoe to respond relatively quickly to the requests that the wearer gives to it; the shoe can make turns with relative ease. The weight of the shoe does take away from the shoes responsiveness somewhat mainly because of the sluggish effect that it has on the wearer.

Support

The firm design of the upper on the Saucony Shadow 6000 allows it to provide the wearer with a high level of cushioning. The cushioning provided by the upper allows for a decent amount of ankle support to the wearer of the shoe; this is coupled using materials such as the patent leather on the upper of the shoe. The sole unit has a cushioned design which provides support to the natural curves of their feet. On top of this, the added foam in the heel unit of the shoe provides added support to the wearer’s heel; something that is necessary for a long-distance running shoe such as the Saucony Shadow 6000.

Terrain

The Saucony Shadow 6000 is designed for use on developed terrains such as roads and the like. The shoe features a hardened rubber outsole which allows the shoe to provide grip on terrains such as these. On top of this, the patterning of the sole unit of the shoe also aids in this effect. The material that makes up the sole unit of the shoe is relatively durable but, it may wear out when used on the harsher terrains such as traila and such; the patterning may degrade in these types of environments.

Price

Saucony did their best to keep the Shadow 6000 in an affordable price range. Their efforts to keep the shoe affordable haven’t taken away from the shoe’s overall durability or aesthetics one bit though. For instance, the upper of the shoe has both synthetic leather and mesh material, which by itself should put this shoe in higher price brackets but doesn’t. The materials in the sole unit of the shoe also provide a high level of durability to the wearer, which gives the shoe an amazing value when the price is considered. Overall, Saucony has given the shoe an amazing design and, for the price is quite affordable.

Traction

The sole unit of the Saucony Shadow 6000 has been designed in such a way to allow the shoe to provide a high level of traction to the wearer. The patterning on the outsole of the shoe in tandem with the material used in the design gives the shoe a high level of grip when worn. That the sole unit of the shoe is one that can grab at surfaces with relative ease, mainly because of the combination of triangular lugs and hardened rubber used throughout.

Flexibility

The sole unit of the Saucony Shadow 6000 is designed in such a way as to give it a decent level of flexibility during use. The EVA foam that was used in the making of the midsole is relatively responsive which allows it to bend easily when pressure is placed on it; this allows the shoe to bend to the will of the wearer’s foot, regardless of the motion that is desired. The sole unit has been given triangular lugs which also aid the shoe in bending to the will of the wearer’s foot. The one thing that holds this shoe back in terms of flexibility is the combination of materials used in the upper of the upper of the shoe. The shoe features an upper that has been designed from both synthetic leather and mesh. The use of synthetic leather in the upper gives it firm feel which doesn’t allow for very much movement to the wearer of the shoe.

Stability

The firm design of the upper of the Saucony Shadow 6000 gives it a relatively stable feel for the wearer. The shoe features an upper designed form a combination of both synthetic leather and mesh which makes it rather firm while in use; the addition of cushioning in the design also adds to this effect. The plethora of cushioning in the upper of the shoe protects the side of the wearer’s foot while also limiting the shoe’s flexibility making it relatively stable. The sole unit of the shoe has been given a wide cut and is somewhat firm in the heel which prevents rollover during use. Overall, the shoe gives the wearer a stable overall ride and counteracts the effects of the added cushioning in the heel.

Drop

The drop on the Saucony Shadow 6000 is nothing to be taken lightly. The heel-to-toe ration of the Saucony Shadow 6000 is approximately 12mm; this isn’t the smallest drop, but it mostly comes from the added cushioning in the heel portion of the shoe. Due to the necessary nature of the cushioning, the drop doesn’t take away from the functionality of the shoe; the shoe’s long-distance intention also greatly justifies the shoe’s drop.

Key features

• EVA midsole
• Triangular outsole patterning
• XT-600 rubber outsole
